Second Quarter: Fundraising

Whether a board of directors is considered a “fundraising board” or not, every board has the responsibility to assure that the organization has adequate resources to serve its mission. For some, this means the board members generate most of the organization’s resources. For others, it is a more limited expectation. For every organization, there should be crystal clear expectations developed between the board members and the chief executive about who has which responsibility and how it will be carried out.
