Hello, my name is Colleen Holman, and I am new to the Alliance. I am joining as the Executive Assistant to Kristen Merrifield, CEO.My “superpower” is combining relationship with process improvement. I thrive in a work environment that is a balance of fast paced intensity, and joy, acting with intention and purpose. And if there is fun to be had in any situation, I’ll find it!

1 What are some important things that you hope to accomplish in your role with the Alliance?

I’m taking an active role in strengthening and bringing the Board of Directors together, improving our board governance process, and anticipating and meeting the needs of the CEO to free up time, so the CEO can accomplish great things.

2 Why you do what you do?

I like working in collaboration with others for the greater good. For the betterment of our organization, the community, and the state of Arizona. I actually like coming to work! That speaks volumes for the Alliance as an organization.

3 What are you reading/watching/listening to?

Reading a great book called, The Big Leap by author Hendricks Gay. Are you living in your zone of excellence or your zone of genius? Read the book to find out. I’d highly recommend it.

4 What are you enjoying in your spare time?

Here’s a big secret! I love goodwill shopping. Most of my clothes/shoes come from secondhand stores. I feel like I’m really getting away with something by not paying full retail lol. When not at Goodwill I am usually planning for my next big trip. I’ve been fortunate to travel many places in the world and want to do more! I like to travel, get involved, participate in community, and I spent 3 months volunteering throughout Italy and Spain. What a fulfilling and exhilarating 3 months!

5 Is there something else that people may be interested in knowing about you?

I’m a photographer, I photograph weddings, Bar Mitzvah’s, corporate events, high school senior portraits and family gatherings. I love this kind of work, it’s creative and keeps me busy. I love the interaction with people and capturing their important moments.
